| 45 | PHOTO-NICKERSON-various male f Nickerson fishermen: an American fishing boat in Woods Harbour, Nova Scotia in 1908, with several Nickerson relatives pictured (from The Yarmouth Vanguard newspaper, publication date unknown, probably circa 1999).Seated at front left is Charlie Nickerson, Daisy's brother ([Asa] Woodbury's son); and directly behind him is another brother (another son of Woodbury) - Elsmere "Ellie" Nickerson, and Daisy's father WoodburyNickerson is either immediately to the right of Elsmere or a bit further right at the spot immediately to the left of the man holding the cigarette and cap. Also, Woodbury's father (Daisy's grandfather), JethroNickerson, is either the man standing 3rd from right edge or the man standing 2nd from left in very rear row (to left of man with head in front of mast, and just to upper left of Ellie). (The conflicts are whereMina Young [1st indications] and Vanguard caption [2nd indications] disagree.) The caption from the Vanguard also indicates that Captain Erastus Nickerson is standing 4th from the right edge (holding cap andcigarette): it is presumed that this is the Erastus that would be Woodbury's wife's brother (Woodbury married a Nickerson lady, Clissie Ora!.; All available information on this photo: 16 People are visible in the photo: 2 seated at front, and two rows of people standing, a front row with 10 people, and a back row with 4 people (the very backmost people, on the left half of the picture). Labelthese people as follows: Seated, L to R: 1, 2 Standing in front row, L to R: 3 to 12 inclusive Standing in back row, L to R: 13 (with white, round hat), 14 (with small cap and light shirt and suspenders and no tie), 15 (with pulley right over his head), 16 (with a bowler hat) The information from Mina (below) and from the caption in the Vanguard (also below) are at times conflicting. Based on this, we know: Charlie Nickerson (Daisy's brother)=1 Elsmere ("Ellie") Nickerson (Daisy's brother)=5 Woodbury "Pa Woody" Nickerson (Daisy's father)=6 (per Mina) OR 8 (per Vanguard): per another photo I have of Woodbury, I think it more likely that Mina is right, but its not definitive. Jethro Nickerson (Daisy's grandfather)=10 (per Mina) OR 14 (per Vanguard) According to Mina Young, the identities of some of these are as follows: 1=Charlie Nickerson (Daisy Robicheau [nee Nickerson]'s brother) 5=Elsmere Nickerson (Daisy Robicheau [nee Nickerson]'s brother) 6="Pa Woody" Nickerson (Daisy Robicheau [nee Nickerson]'s father) 10=Jethro Nickerson (Daisy Robicheau [nee Nickerson]'s grandfather) According to the text published in the Vanguard newspaper, we get the following conflicting identification: 1=Charles Nickerson (agrees with Mina's identification) 2=not indicated 3=Nathaniel Nickerson 4=Jerry O'Connell 5=Ellie Nickerson (agrees with Mina's identification) 6=Darby Crowell (Mina's info disagrees: she says its "Pa Woody" Nickerson) 7=Charles Dixon 8=Woodbury Nickerson 9=Captain Erastus Nickerson 10=Herbert Crowell (Mina's info disagrees: she says its Jethro Nickerson) 11=Israel James O'Connell 12=Andy Jollimore 13=Raymond Nickerson 14=Jethro Nickerson 15=Dester Nickerson 16=Seth Nickerson THE ACTUAL CAPTION FROM THE VANGUARD READ AS FOLLOWS: Shown above is a photo taken in 1908 of Wood's Harbor fishermen aboard an American fishing boat. Seated, L. to R.: Charles Nickerson; First row standing, L. to R.: Nathaniel Nickerson, Jerry O'Connell, Ellie Nickerson, Darby Crowell, Charles Dixon, Woodbury Nickerson, Capt.
